Angry Birds 16th Birthday Bash!

I think this might be my longest post ever! I had lots to cover though ;)

My brother turned 16 this past weekend and he wanted an Angry Birds themed party.

So I took charge of his party and had a blast!

The Lord blessed the day of the party with the greatest weather though it said rain up until the day of!
Now I finally get to post all  the adorable things that I made for his party!

First, before his party I made him a set of Angry Birds crocheted! The patterns for these are here.

Then there were the Angry favor bags...

Bought colored paper bags from the dollar store party section and printed out balloon templates and taped the faces on.

Angry Bird ballons! Got these free templates online and printed them out. I picked up the balloons and by the time I got to the park two had popped and by the time I had set them up four more had popped... And I had not even touched them! They were just popping sitting there! I think the guy gave me defective balloons. But anyhow these are the ones that survived.

I think the red and white bird are going at it! Maybe a staring contest... ;)

My crafty Aunt made these adorable chocolate Oreos to look like birds and pigs...

She also made centerpeices! Talk about creative! The red and yellow birds are starbursts and the blue is a gumball, base is choco krispie treat, "slingshot" was actually some plastic goal posts. She intended to use pretzel rods but used those as a shortcut ;) and they were, each centerpiece, surrounded by my bro's favorite candies!

I just could not justify spending a hundred for these little things so I made them myself and they turned out so cute I could not stop looking at them!!! This was the cake with them on it! The last picture is an attempt of Lawrence to look angry... like his birds :)

      We are the Angry Birds,

      Our story it is sad,

      We were not always mean,

      But those pigs, they made us mad.

       We used to be so happy,

       Around our eggs we’d sing,

       Not thinking of the sneaky pigs,

       As we thought about the day,

       When these little eggs before us,

       Would hatch and with us play.

       But by the pigs our dreams were crushed,

       Revenge is now our game,

       For they took away our precious eggs,

       And we are not to blame.

       We wish that you’d help us,

       Defeat our mean green foe.

       Our vengeance on those pigs we’ll take,

       First Saturday of May,

       With egg hunts, games and so much more,

       On Christians’ special day.

       To keep our darling little eggs,

       Out of the pigs’ kitchen!

And then we had an egg toss. Well, we had an egg hunt too to find the birds stolen eggs but I did not get pics of that, sorry.  So here is the egg toss...

 Not so nice playing by me :) I could not resist! It was already cracked when I opened the package,

 so why not smash it on his back and add excitement and memory to his birthday? :)

I also made a doll cake for a little girl who has a birthday very close to Christian's. I have never made one before and I must say it turned out nice :) Never covered a cake in fondant before cause I don't like  the way it tastes but it sure does make it look so much nicer than what I can do with frosting!

Well after weeks of planning, hours of working on decorations and crafts, shopping, setting up...

Its all over.

Special thanks to my aunt who made things but more importantly made out detailed lists with me so everything would go smoothly, and for once it did!

And also to my mom for taking care of cooking the main food and help going shopping.

Everyone had a great time but most importantly, he loved it all, which is what I wanted.

The Lord blessed me to have such a good, caring, protective brother. And I am so thankful for our close relationship and now that we are older we do everything together. He is my brother but also my friend and I sincerely hope that it will always be that way...
